The Communications Committee has become part of the activities of the Promotions Committee and a branch of Industry and Government Relations. Rather than collecting and distributing news to the membership, Communications sends news flashes by email to the members AS IT HAPPENS. This information is sought out by the directors, by the chair of the industry and government relations committee and by the members themselves. The success of an association like WAEM is not gaged solely by its numbers but in whether the membership adequately reflects the industry it supports. The Committee Chair will make efforts to seek out new avenues for locating and inviting industry professionals to join the league of Trade & Consumer Show Professionals at WAEM. The Committee is made up of anyone who feels they can contribute to recruiting new members, following up with renewing members, assisting with mail outs to prospective membership and organizing membership drives. membership@waem.orgMEMBER SERVICES
Member Services is the Committee responsible for organizing meetings for the membership throughout the year. The Final, Annual General Meeting is an important, pivotal assembly of the membership, during which the Board of Directors for the upcoming year is voted in, as is the budget and any other WAEM business that is to be finalized. These meetings, as well as social or networking functions are conceptualized and delivered by a committee of professionals working with the Member Services Chair. info@waem.orgINDUSTRY AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
Facility Expansion, Workers Compensation Regulations, Trade & Consumer Show Statistics, if it's industry news, the Chair of the Industry and Government Committee will work to get to the bottom of it and take action on behalf of the membership of WAEM. The Trade and Consumer Show Industry represents a major economic force in British Columbia and it is only by ensuring that issues affecting us are discussed, reviewed and presented to Government , if necessary. Getting the word out! Who is WAEM, who are our members and how can we offer our services. Promoting not only the association but the memberships within it is the task that keeps this committee hopping every month.
